Taylorsville is bounded by West Valley City as far north as 4100 S. to West Jordan south at 6500 S. and east by Murray at the Jordan River to 4000 W.

The City of Taylorsville was incorporated on July 1, 1996 through the grassroots efforts of citizens who developed a vision that would provide greater local control of community planning, economic development, and municipal service delivery which makes it one of Utah's newest cities. 

Taylorsville has the lowest tax rate in the Salt Lake County and high community involvement is exhibited by the high number of registered voters. 

Taylorsville High has a notably strong baseball program.
